Our Banff Recommendations:

  • Fly in/out of Calgary, rent a car and drive to Banff so you can have the mobility to get around and not rely on tour buses.

  • Accommodations: while the Fairmont certainly has it’s allure in Banff and at Lake Louise, we opted to stay in Banff to have more options for dining and exploring.  We like the Peak Hotel & Suites, Elk & Ave Hotel or if you want to be slightly out of the way - try the Juniper Hotel (across the interstate).

  • Restaurants we enjoyed: for a more upscale dinner, try the Bison. For a good breakfast try Farm & Fire.  For an authentic local hangout try Magpie & Stump.
